Momentum Across Milbank: Product Innovation, Market Growth, and Utility Engagement
As we move into summer, teams across Milbank continue building momentum through new product development, utility approvals, customer engagement, and market expansion.
From advancing Build America, Buy America (BABA) compliance efforts to securing new utility approvals and driving growth across key product categories, here's a look at what's happening across the organization.
Expanding Utility-Approved Solutions
Milbank's commitment to delivering utility-ready solutions continues to gain traction. The Metering & Enclosures team recently completed development of two new Prewired Socket solutions for Xcel Energy Texas.
These products have now moved into final utility sample review and approval, bringing Milbank one step closer to expanding its portfolio of utility-approved, installation-ready solutions.
As utilities continue seeking ways to simplify field installation and improve consistency, these prewired offerings demonstrate Milbank's ongoing focus on solving real-world challenges for customers and contractors alike.
BABA Compliance: We're Ready to Help
As federally funded infrastructure projects continue to increase across the country, questions surrounding Build America, Buy America (BABA) compliance remain top of mind for customers, distributors, and rep agencies.
The good news? Milbank can support BABA-compliant projects.

Power Distribution Opportunities Continue to Grow
The Power Distribution & Controls team saw strong activity throughout May, particularly in EV infrastructure, enclosed controls, utility engagement, and engineering-driven projects.
Industry events like the ACT Expo in Las Vegas provided valuable insight into emerging EV trends and future opportunities for PWRvance solutions.
Meanwhile, customer meetings across Texas and Louisiana helped strengthen relationships with engineers, contractors, and utilities while generating new project opportunities, including a notable stainless-steel pedestal opportunity in the Houston market.
The momentum continues with expanded engineering outreach, contractor engagement, and sales training efforts across the Southwest.
New Approvals Creating New Opportunities
In the East region, recent approvals and partnerships are already producing results.
A successful meeting between Milbank, Shoals Electric, and Alabama Department of Transportation contractors generated immediate interest in Milbank's Alabama Power-approved CP3BP cabinets, resulting in multiple project quotations within days.
Additionally, Milbank secured official Con Edison approval for PVB-style cabinets ranging from 200A to 1000A on Long Island, expanding opportunities in one of the country's largest utility markets.
These approvals continue to strengthen Milbank's position as a trusted partner for utility and infrastructure projects across the region.
Metering & Enclosures Growth Continues
The Metering & Enclosures business is seeing positive trends across multiple regions.
In the Southwest, NEMA commercial enclosure sales more than doubled compared to May of last year, a testament to the combined efforts of manufacturing teams, distribution partners, and rep agencies working to expand product visibility and market share.
The East region is also experiencing steady growth driven by new customer conversions, account expansion, and increased utility activity surrounding heavy-duty metering solutions and NEC 2020 compliance. Ongoing collaboration between utility customers and Milbank's technical teams continues to support new product consideration and long-term growth opportunities.
Meanwhile, the Northwest region remains strong in several key categories. MH/RV pedestal demand continues to outperform prior-year levels, CT enclosure and rack activity remains strong throughout western markets, and meter combo products continue to lead growth across the Midwest.
Battery Backup Solutions Powering Growth
One of Milbank's fastest-growing product categories continues to be battery backup systems.
Sales have increased 48% since 2024, fueled largely by Department of Transportation projects in Missouri, Idaho, and Northern California.
These systems play a critical role in maintaining power to traffic signals during outages, helping communities improve roadway safety and infrastructure reliability when it matters most.
Meeting this demand requires exceptional teamwork, and the Concordia production teams continue to deliver. From fabrication and assembly to wiring and final quality checks, their efforts have been instrumental in supporting growth while maintaining the high standards customers expect from Milbank.
Looking Ahead
As we enter the second half of the year, the opportunities remain strong. New utility approvals, increasing infrastructure investment, EV growth, BABA-compliant projects, and expanding product adoption continue to create momentum across both Metering & Enclosures and Power Distribution & Controls.
Thank you to our product managers, regional sales managers, production teams, rep agencies, and distribution partners for helping drive that success every day.
